For most of my life I believed that my value and worth was based solely on what other people thought and believed about me. I’d spend hours working to carefully craft an image that I hoped convinced people that I had it all together and was worthy of their time and attention. When I became a mom at 21, I had to come face to face with the reality that I wasn’t who I wanted to be, a college student and single mom with only hopes and dreams of being better for my son than I’d been to myself. I realized that in order to truly be a good mom I had to find myself. My journey to loving myself began with believing and seeing the value of all the things about me that were so specific to who I was.
